We acknowledge that history repeats itself, and so we can learn from those who came before. Here is a unique opportunity to learn from and record the history of a place through the eyes and voices of those who lived and shaped it. While the quality of life may have improved because of foreign influence, native cultures are dying.
As many in the developing world strive to meet Western standards, they leave their traditions and history behind. We need to document these histories before they disappear. Along the way, we will learn something about ourselves and our own great nation. Here is an opportunity for the West and the non-West to work together, to improve each other, and to remember the past while creating a better future.
The success of The General History Project relies on the support of communities, businesses, and people like you. Thank you for considering a contribution.
